För cirka 2,5 miljoner år sedan kom jorden in i en ny fas. Klimatet
började svänga mera. Det svängde mellan istider och värmeperioder och då
svängningarna blev större kallades perioden pleistocen. Ser vi på den
senaste 1 miljonen år så befinner sig jorden i en köldperiod.

For about 2.5 million years ago, the Earth entered a new phase. The
climate began to swing more. It swung between ice ages and warm periods
and then the oscillations became larger the period called was called
Pleistocene. If we look at the last one million years, the Earth is in a
cold period.
